George “Spider” Anderson Music & Arts Festival

Save the Date – May 2027

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 George “Spider” Anderson Music & Arts Festival on May 16!

This free community celebration brought residents, families, businesses, artists, vendors, partners, and visitors together for a day of music, culture, food, entertainment, and community pride along Park Heights Avenue.

The festival honors the legacy of George “Spider” Anderson, the first Black jockey to win the Preakness in 1889, while uplifting the rich history and contributions of Black horsemen in American racing. As the Official Community Partner for Preakness 151, Park Heights Renaissance was proud to help create a space that celebrated history, legacy, and the continued strength of the Park Heights community.

This year’s festival featured live entertainment, horseback rides, carnival games, food trucks, local vendors, a kids’ zone, community resources, and family-friendly activities throughout the day. Thousands gathered to celebrate the culture, history, and future of Park Heights while supporting local businesses, artists, and organizations.

We extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors, performers, vendors, volunteers, community partners, creatives, and everyone who helped make this year’s festival a success. Your support continues to help make this event a meaningful tradition for the Park Heights community.

While the festival may only happen once a year, the work of Park Heights Renaissance continues every day.
